“New Vigil Location
The fall 40 Days for Life campaign is just under a month away. Don't forget to mark your calendar for September 21 at 7pm for the kickoff rally in front of our new vigil location - Planned Parenthood on Township in Fayetteville. The vigil will run from Sept 22-Oct 31 daily from 7am-7pm.
Our kickoff rally features two nationally known pro-life speakers: Shawn Carney, national 40 Days campaign director, and Abby Johnson, former director of Planned Parenthood in Bryan, TX where the very first 40 Days vigil was held. This fall will mark one year since Abby walked away from Planned Parenthood and joined the fight for life.
For those not familiar with Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion provider, I have attached a fact sheet. The local PP does abortions using a dangerous method known as RU-486. For more info on RU-486 check out this site http://www.lifeissues.org/ru486/index.html
Shift Leaders Needed
Volunteers are needed to fill our weekly vigil hours. If you can commit to come and pray at Planned Parenthood an hour or more each week, please let us know! We need 84 people to take one hour a week each, or 42 people to take 2 hours a week. A weekly shift could be shared among members of a Bible study group or other small group.
The responsibilities of a shift leader are easy - show up for your vigil hour(s) on time each week, ask other prayer volunteers who show up during your hour to sign Statement of Peace, keep track of vigil materials, communicate with leadership team, and PRAY!
